I have wanted to do this for some time now.

I LOVE the Kindle commercials where they used stop motion.  It is so creative – so fun – so FABULOUS!  I had to try it for myself.  Little did I realize at the time what kind of commitment was involved.

Ok, who am I kidding, I realized how crazy it would be.

3,942 images.

Three thousand.

Nine hundred.

Fourty two.

IMAGES.

That is a lot of shooting.

But seriously, what better time to do this than one of our trips with just the two of us.  No kids to chase after.  No real worries other than if we catch our boat for our island rendevous or if we wake up in time to get to breakfast.  Perfection.

So here is my first attempt at stop motion.  I hope you enjoy it and maybe feel like you actually went with us to the fabulous islands of Antigua and Barbuda by the time it is all done.  I have a feeling there will be more of these coming up soon.  ;)

I have had a lot of people ask – do you really see that big of a difference after one day of class?  In one word – YES!  All attendees are shooting on manual in the class and making adjustments THAT day!  Now, it goes without saying that a lot of follow up and practice is involved to get your new found skills down, but with commitment to improving your photography skills and the tools I give you in class, I am seeing simply fabulous results from people!!!

So here are some before and afters to illustrate my point.

IT IS TIME!!!!!!!!!!

What is it time for you ask!??!?!?

It is time to

DECK THE HALLS WITH LOTS OF FABULOUS!!!!!  Falalalalaaaaaaa la laaaaaa la laaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Yes, it is true.  We are exactly 119 days until Christmas.  That seems like it is still a ways off, absolutely!  BUT when you factor in everything that is in between now and then, it seems that the days get so busy that 119 days are going to FLY BY FASTER than Santa and his reindeer!!!!!

So, yes, my fabulous friends – it is time to think about your fabulous holiday pictures!

I know, I know.

The sun is still scorching around here.  (even though we really enjoyed some cooler temps today!  yes – low 90s are cool this time of year to us texans!!!)

The school year JUST started.  (believe me that this week has been one of the longest of my LIFE!  a middle schooler, a 3rd grader, a kindergardener and a preschooler that has been really lonely at home without his playmates!)

Even though all these signs point to just the beginning of fall, in photography time we are well into it!

I have scheduled quite a few mini sessions for the months of October, November and even December.  Some are old favorites, some are new ones that I am excited to add!  I am going to be traveling around this fall.  I plan on hitting Austin a few times, Dallas and *possibly* Lubbock.  What is that you say?!?!?  You LOVE Austin?!?!?!  We do too!!!  So plan ahead and make it a little weekend getaway when I am going to be there and we can have LOTS of fabulous fun!!!

Here are all the dates and details!!!

*All mini sessions will be $300 unless otherwise listed and will include your edited images on a disc for you to print to your hearts content.*

September 26th – Austin Minis – location TBD (3 spots available)

October 3rd – Dallas Minis – location TBD – $250 (8 spots available)

October 9th – The Woodlands Minis – location TBD (8 spots available)

October 10th – Portraits in the Park in Kingwood (8 spots available)

October 20th – Halloween canned food drive – 3 canned food items and $25 *you will receive your images on disc*  *sessions are allowed 10 minutes and are limited to 2 subjects per time slot* (12 spots available)

November 7th – Monkeys on the bed / Field sessions in Kingwood – $350 *we will do a combo of both bed in the field shots as well as classic shots without the bed* (5 spots available)

November 14th – Austin Minis (3 spots available)

November 21st – Houston Minis – location TBD (6 spots available)

November 28th -*possible* Kingwood Minis (5 spots available)

December 4th – Minis – location TBD but will be in Kingwood/Houston/Woodlands OR Galveston area  (7 spots available)

December 5th – Minis – location TBD but will be in Kingwood/Houston/Woodlands OR Galveston area (4 spots available)

December 20th, 21st – *possible* Lubbock Minis – these would be great for Seniors or New Years cards! – $250

There will be regular sessions offered as well at normal pricing and will be held Monday-Thursday and limited weekend dates.

Holiday card designs will be available with both minis and regular sessions.  When you book your session in September and prepay you will automatically get 50% off your holiday card order!

Now for some frequently asked questions….

How long are the mini sessions? 30 minutes.  That may not seem like a long time, but it is truly more than enough time to capture all of the images we will need!

How many images will be on the disc? A minimum of 30 images is what you should expect.  Don’t be surprised when there are a lot more on your disc though.

How many family members are allowed in the session? I could be strict and tell you *NO MORE THAN 4 PEOPLE IN THE SESSION*  but I am not strict. ;)  The only thing that matters is that you are all from the same families (so no sharing sessions allowed) and that you realize that no matter how many people we will still have the same amount of time.  I have a big family myself and I am not a fan of restrictions where they are concerned – so there you go!

When will we receive the disc? You will be able to pick up your disc from me with the images on it approximately one week from the date they were taken.  This is a lot quicker than the timelines you may have been used to with me, so that is totally exciting!  The only exception will be the mini sessions on the 4th and 5th of December.  Those will likely have a turn around time of a few days.  (yeah, i know lighting speed!)

Are you doing Fabulous Holiday Cards this year? Of course!!!  IN FACT – I went and pulled some of my faves from last year to share with you to get you all excited and IN THE MOOD!!!  ;)

What if we did pictures earlier in the year and really would like to use those for our card?!?!? We can absolutely do that!  There is no reason to wait – email me now!

When do we give you the cold, hard cash? Oh yeah that part…  ;)  You pay $50 to reserve your session.  The remainder is due when the session takes place.  If for some reason you can’t make the time you signed up for you have the option of rescheduling and having the reservation fee transfer to that mini session.  If for some reason it totally doesn’t work out, the reservation fee is nonrefundable.

What is the ordering deadline to get my cards, books and prints back in time? Ok so here are the deadlines – PRINTS AND CARDS – DECEMBER 13th *but remember the later you wait the closer to the big day you are gonna be*  BOOKS – DECEMBER 8th  *no exceptions*

Can we order prints too or is it just the disc? You can absolutely order prints!  There will be special print pricing for the mini sessions that will be provided when you book your session.  :)

ONE last thing!!!  *A bit of a bonus for all of you FABULOUS OCCASIONS regulars!*  If you schedule a Mini session with me and convince 2 of your friends who have not ever used me to schedule their mini session with me – guess what!?!?!?!?  YOUR MINI SESSION IS HALF OFF!!!!!!  So yeah – that there is a pretty fabulous deal I would say!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of my gorgeous cousins is graduating this year from high school.  It is a little bit wild to think I actually remember when she was born…

She is headed off to Baylor!  We tried to work on her for UT but the Bears won!
